    field notes: afternoon to late afternoon. cold, wet, windy; from cloudy damp with rare sun, to cold rain on me and snow on the mountain. osprey and ravens were quiet, but present; had to hold the board over my head, image down, to protect it from rain as i painted. rangers stopped to check on me in the cold cold drizzle.
